Amandine is a graduate of the ISIPCA school for perfume studies, at the end of which she worked on an intriguing fragrance thesis, setting the tone for her future. Here she met master perfumer Michel Almairac, with whom she would work for over a decade.
A constant traveller, she finds inspiration in all the secret corners of the globe. This wider world view has a massive influence on the variety of scents she dreams up, as do the visual aspects of life – colours, shapes and even movement.
She has composed fragrances for Van Cleef & Arpels, Yves Saint Laurent, Lancôme and Thierry Mugler, but is most widely recognised – and praised – for creating the iconic new Chloë fragrance.
Born and raised in Grasse, the world’s “capital of perfume”, the spirit of the region runs through Fabrice’s veins. After apprenticing with his father, he studied with Jovoy and Amouage veteran perfumer, Michele Saramito. For the last 20 years he has built a reputation of excellence by focussing on every stage of a fragrance’s creation.
He has created many beloved scents for well-known perfume houses, like Diptyque, including Eau Duelle, Volutes, and Do Son. He is known for his work with woods and spices, and natural materials in general.
On the reverse of his wristwatch he has engraved ‘Carpe Diem’, a reminder of the passing of time, telling us what matters most to this brilliant perfumer: making the most of the time we have.
The granddaughter of fashion icon Jacques Rouet of the House of Dior, Philippine was taught that willpower and hard work allow you to make your dreams come true.
She is currently a fine fragrance perfumer for one of the world’s largest privately-owned fragrance companies, based in France, where she specialises in creating fragrances for Arabic brands that perpetuate a global relevance.
She sees the ‘folie des grandeurs’ of the Middle East as the stuff of dreams. “In Dubai, every weekend is a vacation, and everything is a pretext for a party and excess.”
